
Sprinter Service B Maintenance

The first Service B maintenance should be performed when your Sprinter van has reached 40,000 miles or about 2 years as indicated by industry standard driving averages. Generally, the exact time will be indicated by the Mercedes vehicle’s Flexible Service System. After the first service, the Service B should come again every 40,000 miles or two years, but again the precise time will be shown by the vehicle’s Flexible Service System.

Our Premium Service B Includes:
Reset Maintenance service indicator in instrument cluster.
Replace combination filter.
Replace the combination filter for the rear compartment air conditioning system.
Lubricate hinges on end rear door.
Check parking brake function.
Check water drains in sliding door.
Check warning/indicator lamps.
Inspect front and rear seat belts, seat belt buckles, seat belt buckle extensions for damage and proper operation.
Check windshield wipers, rear windshield wiper, windshield washer system, and headlamp washer system operation.
Check vehicle for corrosion, accident and paint damage.
Check all exterior lights.
Engine – oil and filter change.
Inspect trailer tow hitch attachment, function and play.
Lubricate the trailer tow hitch.
Check supplementary rubber springs for general condition.
Check and correct all tire air pressures, including spare tire where applicable.
Check all assemblies, engine, transmission, transfer case, axles, power steering components, brake components for leaks and damage.
Inspect hoses, lines and sensor cables for leaks, routing, chafing and general condition.
Inspect all reservoirs, shock absorbers, front axle joints, covers, sleeves, dust caps for leaks, line routing, chafing and general condition.
Inspect steering mechanism: tie rod, steering lever, rubber sleeves, dust caps for general condition.
Check condition of poly-V belt.
DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) reservoir- check fluid level and correct if necessary.
Check coolant level, corrosion inhibitor/antifreeze, and correct if necessary.
Check power steering fluid level and correct if necessary.
Check windshield washer system fluid, correct if necessary.
Check brake fluid level and correct if necessary.
Replace wiper blades.
Check headlamp setting, correct if necessary.
Auxiliary battery in engine compartment, check fluid level and correct.
Check thickness of brake pads and discs, front and rear wheels removed.
Inspect tires for damage and measure remaining tread life.
Check TIREFIT tire sealant expiration date (where applicable).
NOTE: Additional maintenance items may be required due to the vehicles year, model and/or mileage.
REQUIRED ADDITIONAL WORK
At 20,000 miles or 1 year: Rear Axle: Retighten U-Bolts.
Every 2 years: Replace Brake Fluid.
If more than 20,000 miles or 1 year since last replacement: Replace fuel filter with water separator.
If more than 60,000 miles or 3 years since last replacement: Replace air filter.
If more than 60,000 miles or 3 years since last replacement: Automatic transmission-oil and filter change.
At 80,000 miles or 4 years since last replacement: Replace Poly-V belt.
At 100,000 miles or 5 years since last replacement and if filter is not replaced every 20,000 miles or 1 year until filter is replaced: Check saturation level of diesel particulate filter. Determine if DPF needs replacement.
If more than 180,000 miles, or 9 years since last replacement: Replace rear axle oil and replace coolant.
